Help & advice
Radiator cold at the top, warm at the bottom
This is almost always trapped air. Bleeding the radiator with a radiator key usually fixes it in a few minutes.
What to check
- Turn the heating off and let the radiators cool.
- Hold a cloth under the bleed valve at the top corner and turn it a quarter turn anticlockwise.
- When water starts to come out instead of air, close it.
- Check the boiler pressure afterwards and top it up if it has dropped. If radiators need bleeding every few weeks, call me, as air is getting in somewhere.
